Meet the Team

Patrick J. Sullivan, Esquire

Patrick is proud to serve our community’s legal needs and does so with passion.  His father, retired Lt. Commander William J. Sullivan, moved the family to Virginia Beach in 1984.  He graduated from Cox High School in 1995 and received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Belmont Abbey College in 1999.

He attended Barry  University School of Law in Orlando, Florida, where he later became a Public Defender.  Upon returning to Virginia Beach in 2007, Patrick expanded his practice to the areas of Family Law and Civil litigation, while continuing to succeed in the areas of Criminal and Traffic defense.  He enjoys being in the courtroom and has experience at all levels of court. He is a court appointed attorney in the city of Virginia Beach and a proud member of the Virginia Beach and Virginia State Bars.

Rachel Zollweg, Practice Manager

Rachel is our Practice Manager and has been with Wilson Law, PLC since 2012. Rachel graduated from Liberty University with her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Government and Public Administration. She found her passion for law in her undergraduate studies. She especially has a passion for Elder Law and the complex planning for Medicaid and Veterans benefits. Rachel volunteers regularly for different organizations and sits on the board for the Officers Support Group.

As a child of a military veteran and the wife of a naval flight officer, she has been given the opportunity to travel the United States, allowing her to embrace different cultures and see many different parts of our country. Rachel has happily settled here in the Hampton Roads area with her husband and two children. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and close friends. She is a fan of the Redskins, baseball, reading, and being outside.

Kathy Jacobs, Client Support Coordinator

Kathy graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a degree in Social Work and worked as a Caseworker for James City County Public Schools.   She then worked on her graduate degree at Old Dominion University and received her teaching certification.  She worked as a Special education teacher with Newport News Public Schools where she taught Collaborative Kindergarten.

Kathy has been with Wilson Law since September of 2011.  She is the Client Services Coordinator and schedules most of our client appointments.  She enjoys talking to our clients and getting to know them.

Kathy is married to her husband, Kevin and has three children, Joshua, Shelby, and Samantha.  She loves animals and has three dogs, three cats, two horses’, chickens, and a bunny.  Kathy enjoys riding horses, reading, being outside, and hiking.

John Accardi, Funding Coordinator, and Trust/Probate Administration Paralegal

John Accardi is our Funding Coordinator and Trust/ Probate Administration Paralegal. He moved to the Williamsburg area in 2016 when he assisted moving his retired parents to the area.

John is a graduate with his J.D. from UCLA, Bachelors in Philosophy from Wake Forest University, and was admitted by the California bar in 1998. John previously worked in the areas of Estate Planning, immigration and bankruptcy law in Los Angeles, California.

When not working or caring for his parents, he enjoys running and being outdoors.

Lauren Johnston,  Trust, Will & Estate Paralegal

Lauren Johnston is our Trust, Will & Estate Paralegal. She is originally from Mobile, Alabama and has recently joined the Hampton Roads community.  As a military wife, she’s enjoyed traveling and exploring different cultures along the way. In her off time, she loves baking and spending time with her family.

Lauren has vast work experience through her previous employers in various types of law and is currently completing her bachelor’s degree.


Suzanne Amend,  Receptionist

Suzanne Amend is our Receptionist, also known as the First Impression Specialist. She is originally from Virginia Beach, Virginia. She was able to travel quite a bit following her retired military husband’s career. Now she is happily settled back here in Virginia. She has a vast experience working with the public and her bubbly personality proves it! She enjoys spending time with her husband and son, getting out on the water and boating. Her son is extremely active in the community and sports, and she is his biggest cheerleader.
